mahu is so very excited to be supporting International Breastfeeding Week with the 'Big latch On'!
Mums nationwide will be attempting to break the record for the most women breastfeeding simultaneously. Get involved and receive some fantastic goodies.
The countdown is on for the 2010 Big Latch On ! Thank you to everyone who has already registered, it is shaping up to be another record breaking event with 80 venues already registered nationwide in an attempt to beat last year’s official record of 1306 women breastfeeding simultaneously.
Your venue can be anywhere , your house , your office, a local café , a park , a car, or even a plane! Anywhere as long as it is in NZ and you have at least two non participating witnesses. The Big Latch On will be turning six this year and mahu is so proud to be involved in supporting this fantastic event for communities large and small around New Zealand.
The positive impacts of the Big Latch On have extended past the event itself. The Big Latch On has prompted the establishment of breastfeeding support groups in areas where mothers are isolated, and events like this help us as a community to reach out and support one another. The Big Latch On is part of events taking place during World Breastfeeding Week (1st - 7th of August). Last year more than 500 World Breastfeeding Week events took place globally involving more than 800,000 celebrants.
